CONTAMINATION AREAS (KVF) TRÜBPL MÜNSTER-NORD

Project Details

Since the First World War, the site of the Munster-Nord military training area has been used both for military exercises and as a production site and test site for warfare agents. Together with the IFAH Institute for Applied Hydrogeology GbR, BIG has been commissioned with the expert, planning and construction supervision tasks in connection with explosive ordnance clearance, the exploration and remediation of soil and groundwater contamination and the dismantling of the contaminated building fabric.

The main focus of its work is on explosive ordnance clearance and extensive soil investigation. It is particularly important to coordinate the exploratory work with the times of use of the site by the Bundeswehr and to be available as a central contact person for the client.

BIG’s share of services:

  • Evaluation of existing historical explorations and designation of suspected contamination areas
  • Technical support and documentation of exploratory investigations and, if necessary, detailed investigations (soil, building fabric and groundwater investigations) with regard to contamination of warfare agents, explosive-typical compounds and their degradation products, including groundwater monitoring
  • Exposure assessments and risk assessments with regard to the encountered contamination and identification of restrictions on use in accordance with BFR BoGwS
  • Development of remediation concepts and planning of the remediation work, technical support of the remediation investigations and their safety-related coordination in accordance with TRGS 524
  • Preparation of a remediation plan in accordance with § 13 BBodSchG, taking into account the further requirements of planning law
  • Preparation of a construction document in accordance with RBBau including updating of the ES-Bau and preparation of the EW-Bau including compilation of the cost calculation according to DIN 276
  • Coordination of project participants, coordination with responsible authorities, ongoing reporting to the client, preparation of decision templates
