Powering Hope in Yendi, Ghana
One of the Mustard Seed Foundation’s meaningful initiatives is taking root in Yendi, Northern Ghana, where environmental engineering and compassion come together to bring reliable, renewable electricity to those who need it most. At the heart of this effort is Nazareth Home for God’s Children, a refuge for children with special needs who were abandoned by their communities and are now lovingly cared for by Sister Stan Mumuni.
For years, limited and unstable access to electricity affected every aspect of daily life at the home. Today, that reality has changed. Through a thoughtfully designed 6.1 kWp solar power system with an integrated battery and inverter, the home now benefits from consistent, sustainable energy—turning darkness into light and uncertainty into possibility.
Beyond illumination, access to electricity represents dignity, opportunity, and hope. Well-lit rooms support safer living conditions, reliable power enables food storage and daily operations, and the children can now grow and learn in an environment designed for their well-being.
The impact of this project extends far beyond the installation itself. By reducing dependence on unstable power supply, the solar power system strengthens energy security and ensures the continuous operation of essential facilities. Designed for local conditions, durability, and long-term performance, the solution reflects a commitment to sustainability rather than short-term aid.
This project demonstrates how engineering expertise can become an act of responsibility. Through collaboration, technical precision, and care, infrastructure is transformed into a foundation for lasting change, supporting everyday life while safeguarding the future.
Through the Mustard Seed Foundation, compassion meets engineering excellence, turning small seeds of support into life-changing outcomes. It is a testament to how thoughtful, sustainable solutions can uplift communities and create meaningful progress—one step at a time.
Always guided by our vision:
Engineering for a Better Tomorrow.

Transforming Lives in Ndoss, Senegal
One of the Mustard Seed Foundation’s landmark successes is our project in Ndoss, Senegal, where we completed the construction of a 25-meter-deep community water well. This well provides consistent, reliable access to clean and safe drinking water—a vital resource that dramatically improves the health and quality of life for the local population.
Beyond just water access, this project has enabled the introduction of innovative drip irrigation systems, which have significantly boosted agricultural productivity by conserving water and increasing crop yields. This advancement allows farmers to cultivate organic vegetables more efficiently, creating sustainable economic opportunities and fostering food security within the community.
The impact of the Ndoss project extends far beyond immediate water needs. By addressing the essential challenge of water scarcity, the foundation has helped lay the groundwork for broader social and economic development. Access to clean water reduces waterborne diseases, improves hygiene, and empowers families, especially women and children, to pursue education and other opportunities that were previously out of reach due to the burden of water collection.
This project embodies the Mustard Seed Foundation’s mission: planting small seeds of innovation and care that grow into lasting, meaningful change. It stands as a testament to how targeted, sustainable environmental engineering solutions can transform entire communities, one step at a time.
Together, we turn purpose into progress—one solution, one community at a time.
What We Do
We fund and support innovative projects that address critical challenges such as clean water access, renewable energy, sanitation, and agricultural sustainability. By partnering with local communities, NGOs, and experts, we implement decentralized, scalable solutions tailored to the unique needs of each region. Our projects integrate technological innovation with respect for local knowledge, ensuring social equity and long-term impact.
Our Vision
To see a world where every community—no matter how remote or under-resourced—has access to sustainable solutions that empower them to thrive, protect their environment, and secure a dignified future.
Our Mission
We deliver high-impact, scalable engineering and development solutions that are rooted in sustainability, equity, and innovation.
The Reason Behind Our Work
We exist because too many communities still face urgent environmental and social challenges that threaten their wellbeing and future. Our founder’s experiences in remote regions of China and Africa revealed that sustainable development requires more than aid—it needs innovation, local empowerment, and ongoing commitment. The Mustard Seed Foundation was created to nurture these small but vital efforts, believing that with patience and partnership, they will grow into profound change for people and planet alike.

How We Allocate Funding
At the Mustard Seed Foundation, we take pride in our commitment to transparency and accountability. 100% of the funds allocated to our projects are directed entirely to the initiatives we undertake. The founder personally covers all administrative and operational costs, ensuring that every cent of the funding is spent directly on the sustainable solutions we implement. This guarantees that our promises are fulfilled, with every resource dedicated solely to creating real, lasting impact for the communities we serve.
A Message from the Founder: Florian von Tucher
In the mid-2000s my involvement in development aid took me to some of the most remote and impoverished regions of the world.
Northern Tibet, Mongolia, and Western China – where I was involved with the implementation of decentralised wastewater treatment systems, I realised I needed a deeper purpose. Though I later found success in real estate development, the desire to make a lasting impact never left me.
